Probably the artist that has single-handedly pioneered the filthy dubstep sound in Belgium,
and has been picked up by all of the major players, is Point.Blank.
Initially made up of two people, now there ís only Matar at the controls,
and he has turned the Point.Blank sound into an instantly recognisable dancefloor-minded attack,
aimed squarely at your feet!
When one thinks about the name “Point.Blank”,
the immediate imagery that comes to mind is that of discharging
a fire-arm directly into the body of an attacker.
Fired at point-blank range, any weapon is exponentially more deadly,
and tremendously more explosive and all-around destructive.
This is exactly the concept that the listener should keep in
mind when listening to Point.Blank’s music.
With numerous releases under his belt on underground labels such as
Dubsaw, Rottun Records, Prime Adio, Never say die, Ultragore, Betamorph, 2 Much Bass and Dub All or Nothing,
his hard-as-nails sound has been getting caned by the likes of Borgore, Helicopter showdown, Getter, Eptic
among many others.
**GETTER** (FirePower)
The unsung hero of underground bass culture, Getter has been taking over stages across the US since 2010, beginning at the ripe young age of 17. Before he could even buy his own pack of cigarettes, Getter was performing across the US and receiving support from genre pioneers DATSIK and Downlink. Fast forward to 2013, Getter has become known for ignoring trends and cutting his own path with ripping, guttural synths and a sprinkling of melody. 2013 has also seen Getter release his Beatport-chart-topping debut album “I Want More” on DATSIK’s Firepower label–including a collaboration with the star himself. With his tunes being rinsed by the likes of Flux Pavilion, Rusko, DATSIK and Borgore (to name only a few) the future is looking very bright for this young blood. Catch Getter inciting riots at a small club, a massive festival or a broken down warehouse in a city near you!
